Cookie Policy

Overview
This Cookie Policy explains how Ryan Keiser (“I,” “me,” or “we”) uses cookies and similar technologies on ryankeiser.net. It applies to visitors worldwide, including the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and other regions with cookie or privacy laws.
For how personal data is handled more broadly, see the Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and session identifiers used by hosting or payment providers. Some are strictly necessary for the site to work; others are optional (e.g. analytics) and are used only with your consent where required.
How we use cookies
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Security, load balancing, form submission, remembering cookie preferences, and enabling Stripe Checkout when you pay. | Not required (necessary) |
| Functional | Third-party tools you choose to use (e.g. Calendly when you open a booking page; Stripe when you start checkout). | Triggered by your action |
| Analytics / marketing | Not currently enabled on this site. If added later, they will only run after you choose Accept all (or an equivalent control). | Required where law applies |
Cookies and similar technologies we may use
- Netlify (hosting) — essential cookies or headers for CDN, security, and reliability.
- Cookie preference — stored in your browser
(localStorage key
rk_cookie_consent) so we remember Essential only vs Accept all. - Stripe — when you pay, Stripe may set cookies on its domains as described in Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
- Calendly — if you open a scheduling link, Calendly may set cookies under its own policy.
- Fonts / CDN — Google Fonts may be requested from Google’s servers when pages load (technical delivery; not used for advertising by us).
Your choices
On your first visit (and until you choose), a banner lets you select Essential only or Accept all. You can change your mind anytime by clearing site data for ryankeiser.net in your browser, then reloading the page to see the banner again—or email ryan@ryankeiser.net.
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in settings. Blocking essential cookies may break checkout or forms.
International visitors
If you are in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction with consent requirements for non-essential cookies, optional cookies will not be used without your consent. Essential cookies remain necessary for the service you request (browsing, contact, payment).
You may also have rights under applicable privacy law (access, erasure, objection, etc.) as described in the Privacy Policy.
Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control
There is no uniform industry standard for DNT signals. Where we add optional analytics in the future, we will honor clear opt-out mechanisms we implement (including this banner) and applicable legal requirements.
Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy when tools or practices change. The “Last updated” date above will be revised when material changes are posted.
